Keith Barr and Terry Sherwood started MXR in 1972 and it wasn’t long before they’d left their mark on what would become some of the most notable records of all time. Pedals like the M-101 Phase 90, Distortion+ and Dyna Comp as well as the Phase 45 and Phase 100 found themselves in studios with the likes of Van Halen and David Gilmour. From the earlier ‘Script Era’ to modern day incarnations and reissues as well as an incredible custom shop, MXR continues to release unique and versatile effects.
Artists are still flocking to MXR in their own pursuit of tone and with a stable that includes Paul Gilbert, Randy Rhodes (Ozzy Osbourne) and Jerry Garcia (Grateful Dead) it’s understandable why they continue to be one of the biggest names in effects.
